may/june 2015 5 Mohammed Hamed Ahmed Soliman is an industrial engineer and operational excellence consultant who works as a lecturer at the American University in Cairo. He has experi- ence in many industries, including the fertilizer, chemicals and crystal-glassmaking sectors. He holds numerous certificates in management, industrial, quality and cost engineering. Whitney Wardlaw is a senior healthcare operations planner at Perkins+Will, a world- wide architecture, planning and interiors firm. She has a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, a master's degree in health sys- tems and an MBA, and she is a LEED Green Associate and EDAC certified professional. Wardlaw has a wide variety of expertise work- ing in hospitals, consulting companies and hospital architecture firms. She previously has been published in Healthcare Design Magazine and Medical Construction and Design Magazine . Her focus areas include lean, hospi- tal operations, clinical business management, process improvement, workflow, staffing, sup- ply chain operations, finance, revenue cycle, IT implementations, decision support and benchmarking. Gerard Beenen is an assistant professor of management, department vice chair and fac- ulty coordinator for graduate programs at the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton. He has a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and theory from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA from Northwestern University and an M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary. His research on workplace motivation and learning has been published in Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Human Resource Management, Academy of Management Learning & Education , and the Journal of Computer Mediated Communication . Prior to his academic career, he was CEO of a cancer center, a dot-com co-founder and a manage- ment consultant with both Bain & Co. and Ernst & Young. Brian H. Kleiner is a professor of manage- ment at California State University, Fullerton. He received both an MBA and a Ph.D. in man- agement from UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). Mark Shimohara has worked in business development and commercial banking. The Anaheim, California, native studied sociol- ogy at UCLA, where he earned a bachelor's degree.
